Mommy, Uncle Josh, Aunt Lara, and Aunt Jenny all ran in the Marine Corps Marathon and kicked some major booty yesterday. So, my top five today is dedicated to them.
These are my top five ways to relax after a marathon:
5. Go directly home and take a bath with Elmo bubbles.
4. Sit down on the sofa in comfy clothes and fuzzy slippers and push the buttons on the remote control in an effort to put on a “fid-eeeoo.”
3. Place an order at Outback and send Daddy out to pick up your bloomin’ onion et steak.
2. Get a brief, but enthusiastic, second wind. Use said wind to play with the big red ball.
1. Go to bed early, cause a full day of cheering and lounging in the stroller will really wipe you out.

Hugo! I didn’t even know your Uncle Josh ran. I probably would have missed him running by me too, though. But I agree, spectators need recovery. My head was spinning trying to pick your mom and Jenny out of the crowd. Give your mom a big congratulations hug for me.

I agree Hugo, there is nothing like sitting on the couch in comfy clothes after a marathon and ordering out. Thanks for cheering us on!! You rock!!
Love,
Auntie Lara

Mommy neglected to include the fact that eating the bubbles and drinking the bath water is an essential part of the process – that’s what Grandma has “observed”.

I second the thanks on the cheering front, H! It was a great pick-me-up to see you trying to steal Mommy’s medal in the finish area. It took me days and days to feel myself again, and I must admit, I continue to be wearing fuzzy slippers as I type…
